Synopsis
The orphaned Douglas Guest has had a miserable childhood being raised by his strict and religious uncle Gideon Strong. Tired of his uncle and his rural existence, Douglas steals money intended for his education and runs away to London to start a new life as a writer. Despite his aspirations, Douglas struggles to achieve his dreams, and following a shocking murder he finds himself once again faced with his family and the life he had tried to leave behind.
